Where did you ride this weekend?

2012 Bike Jersey - San Diego Century

The weather looks good for some great riding this weekend, so drop a note and share your ride to get in on the 2012 San Diego Century weekend bike jersey giveaway.  Post a short note,  or paste a link to your GPS ride to answer, “Where did you ride this Weekend?”

Congrats to Brent & his daughter for their riding perseverence.  They brought home last weekend’s jersey (and a t-shirt) for working with a cranky tandem bike.

Keep in mind the free group rides on Saturdays with Revolution Bike Shop and Trek Bicycle Superstores Ride Guides.  It’s a great way to get out there, try new routes and meet new riding friends.

If you’re looking for new routes to ride, then check out the 17 great routes included in the winner announcement previously.

If you haven’t participated yet, we will be giving away San Diego Century merchandise this week (and every week until 5/19) with some fun website contest questions.  Two winners who participate this week will each receive a free 2012 San Diego Century bike jersey.  This week we are splitting it up for one jersey giveaway on the weekend, and one for the week.

Whether or not you want to participate, be sure to check out our 2012 merchandise, including the jersey, t-shirts and caps.

This edition of the regular weekender question is “Where did you ride this weekend?”  Share your ride route or GPS ride track.  Post a comment below with your answer to get in on the Jersey contest. You may also post your answer and GPS info on our Facebook page.

If you want a few suggestions on tracking & sharing your rides with your phone, your GPS device or by entering your route online then check out “6 Ways to Track Your Rides with Your Phone or GPS Device”.

Win a San Diego Century 2012 Bike Jersey. The best comments between Saturday morning and 11:59 pm  Monday  are eligible.  The judging team from San Diego Century will select the winning comments on Tuesday/Wednesday, with the winner posted later in the week.

Riding thru the beautiful hills of rancho Santa fe,stopped to refresh and fuel up at Pasitano Cafe, finishing up by riding around lago linda lake and waving to all the other fellow bikers who know how to enjoy a beautiful day in san Diego!!

After replacing the shifters and chain from last week’s fiasco, daughter and I took it ‘easier’ and went to the beach on the tandem. Poway to Encinitas via 56 and 101. Still a good amount of miles, but little climbing.

From Sabre Springs, up the Purple Monster to Ramona, down Highland Valley Road to Escondido, down Del Dios Highway to RSF and Solana Beach, then over to Del Mar, and back on the 56 Bike Path.

Gorgeous though a little bit of everything, awesome views off of Highland Valley back towards Ramona then a few hours later Torrey Pines! 🙂

62 miles and 4,300+/- feet of climbing. Kicked my butt!

    55 miles – Top Gun/Mission Valley/La Jolla Loop
Thank you all who rode today… I consider it a privilege to have ridden with & met you all. My exhaustion says it all … Today’s ride was definitely worth every drop of sweat & cramped up muscle!!! Semper Fidelis Trek Crew!!!

I rode over to the Red Cross and gave them a pint (usually I donate blood to the pavement but today was different). It’s only a 10-mile round trip and going home is mostly downhill, but by the time I got home I felt like I’d done a half-century. It’s amazing what I’ll do for free cookies. Rehydrating now, one beer at a time.

I met up with new friends I met at a tri club social. We rode from Encinitas to the San Luis Rey Trail (38 miles total). It was a perfect day for coastal ride. The best part?…we’re all riding in the San Diego Century next month!! [Do I get bonus points for that?? ;-)]

I did my PCH 101 ride. La Costa to the coast. Up to downtown Carlsbad and back. Just under 20 miles door to downtown to door.

I’m jealous, Steve Gagliano! I really miss that area.
On Saturday I rode down to Seal Beach, then along the beach path (great tail wind!) to Newport Beach, then took PCH to Newport Coast. The climb up Newport Coast Drive was a good workout, followed by some nice Class 1 bike paths I’ve never ridden before, along Shady Canyon and Quail Hill areas. Took the Greenbelt trail as far NW as I could, then took Dyer/Segerstrom (yuck!) west to the Santa Ana River trail, then ad-libbed my way along city streets back to Los Alamitos. 65 miles total, and I was wiped out! Couldn’t even eat — just took a shower and hit the hay.

Up to Red Rock Canyon for a twenty mile loop to cap off a beautiful Easter Sunday. Perfect weather and lots of people on the trails. Heard a funny squeek from the front tire and thought it was my hub so after my ride I took it apart and repacked the bearings. Took it for a test ride and still squeeked. Turned out my spokes just need tightening!
