I just completed my first duathlon…5k run, 30k bike, 5k run…and I came in first place in my category age group! I’m not going to lie though…the 20+ gusts made the bike portion a bit miserable. But I just earned my nap! 🙂

Debating riding in the cold rain/ disasterous wind this morning, but ended up doing almost 40 miles. 14mph average. not bad for 20+mph headwinds.

Here’s a map to check it out.

Regardless of the bad weather, we rode with the Blind Stokers Club Saturday morning from Solana Beach to Oceanside. Darn wind made it much harder than it was suppose to be. It even rained on us for a while. Good times!

Rode the Santa Ana River Trail from Newport Beach to Anaheim and back on Saturday. A nice 37 mile ride. I saw a lot of triathletes out there testing their deep dish wheels in the crosswinds – it was a wonder they stayed on the trail!

I got in a nice ride to and from my friend’s birthday party. Started in Poway and went south via the 15 bike path. Kept going south on Kearny Villa to Marukai to pick up some pickles. Then to La Jolla on Genesee and side streets. I took Miramar Rd all the way back to the 15 and home to Poway. A solid 39 miles on my mountain bike with food and beer in my pack too!
