For Immediate Release:

Registration will close early on May 5 for the San Diego Century Bicycle Tour

APRIL 30TH, 2014

May 31 1500 rider capacity nearly full!

Entries for the eighth annual San Diego Century Bicycle Tour, the classic San Diego county cycling event with food & fitness expo set for Saturday, May 31 in Encinitas, are nearly sold out, and registration will close on May 5, 2014.

“The response keeps growing,” said event organizer Jim Curl of Event Media, Inc. “With last year’s event at nearly 1500 riders on the course we want to continue to provide a great experience for all our participants.  In 2014 we will keep the course capacity at 1,500 bike riders. This means we will have to plan for an early sell-out of registrations. If you’re thinking about riding in 2014 be sure to register by May 5!”

“The San Diego Century is a wonderful San Diego tradition and community cycling event that caters to cyclists of all ages and abilities.” said Curl. “The rides showcase the classic hills and scenery in North County San Diego.  The local SAG support along the route combined with the post-ride expo and food trucks at MiraCosta College really make this annual event a treat for any cyclist.”

Entries for the 2014 event will be capped at 1,500. To secure your place among the remaining spots, register as soon as possible prior to May 5.  For details visit the event website: .

About the San Diego Century Bicycle Tour

The San Diego Century Bicycle Tour (Saturday, May 31, 2014), consists of a choice of 20, 33, 67 and 105-mile rides that start and finish at MiraCosta College in Encinitas. The three longer cycling courses include classic and challenging routes that tour the beautiful Lake Hodges, climb scenic hills on the way to Poway and Ramona and return to MiraCosta College. The shorter ride features a new course in 2014 with an out and back inland route to Tri-City Wellness Center in Carlsbad. All the rides are followed by finish line festivities at MiraCosta College, including cuisine from local food trucks, refreshments and a sports and fitness expo. Proceeds from the ride support the San Diego County Bicycle Coalition – — a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to making bicycling better in greater San Diego.
