To help everyone get started on the journey to May 20, Coach Morgon developed weekly workout suggestions for every distance based on an intermediate fitness and skill level.

3 Easy Steps to Get Started:

1. Read below and pick the distance you’d like to ride in May.

2. Spend some time planning your schedule so you can fit in the training and preparation time between now and May 20.

3. Get out on the bike and put in some miles, and we hope to see you on the registration roster soon!

Here are the PDF files to view/download for the San Diego Century, with suggested workout mileages for  each distance, covering the current 2 weeks leading up to the event. Each plan assumes that you have an appropriate level of fitness to complete the training for the week, and to comfortably and safely be able to complete the training for the ride distance of your choice on May 20.

THE PURPLE MONSTER CLIMB ON THE 105 MI COURSE

105 mile riders will hit the Purple Monster Climb approximately 48.5 miles from the start at MiraCosta College.  The climb is about 1.7 miles long with a 7% grade. (NOTE: Don’t forget that the Purple Monster is one section of approximately 7 miles of climbing – manage your pace and stay hydrated!)  http://bit.ly/SDC_3Climbs
