How to Win 2 Bike Jerseys on 2/10

2012 Bike Jersey - San Diego Century

Whether or not you’ve got Valentine plans in place we thought we’d check in to see who might have a romantic ride to recommend for lovebirds on bikes.  This week’s bike jersey question is all about ride romance.

If you haven’t participated yet, we will be giving away San Diego Century bike jerseys this week (and every week until 5/19) with some fun website contest questions.  Two winners who participate this week will each receive a free 2012 San Diego Century bike jersey.

Whether or not you want to participate, be sure to check out our 2012 merchandise, including the jersey, t-shirts and caps.

In the quest for the perfect ride this week’s question is “Will you be riding on Valentine’s Day (and where?), or celebrating, or both?”  And if you have a good route to share for lovebirds on bikes, share it with your fellow cyclists.  Post a comment below with your answer to get in on the Jersey contest.

For Valentine’s Day, the boyfriend and I will be participating in the Coronado Valentine’s Day 10k run. Then we’ll be celebrating with a cold beer at the Coronado Brewery. Cheers!

My wife and I are celebrating Valentine’s Day a bit early by going to Palm Springs to ride in the Tour de Palm Springs. A fun day of riding followed by a nice romantic dinner (we’ll have earned it).

For Valentines day this year I will be treating my wife to a weekend spa getaway for the 2 of us to La Quinta in Indian Wells. It’s been 10 months since the birth of our Son (our first!!!) and she is deserving of major pampering.

We will start our ride in Solana Beach, and ride up the 101 up to Oceanside, have a late breakfast at Beach Break Cafe (excellent corned beef hash) and then back down to Solana Beach down the 101. Excellent sites, not a crazy hard ride, and approx. 30 miles! We did it on our anniversary also!

I’ll ride during lunch aboard Camp Pendleton. I think some hills are in order! As for celebrating…I’ll be celebrating being fabulously single!! 🙂

Since my wife doesn’t ride, my daughter and I will be taking the tandem on the 56 bike trail from Poway to the coast. Good cadence regulation training. Get back in plenty of time to do other things with my wife as well.

On Valentine’s day my wife and I will go for a mountain bike ride on the San Dieguito River Park trail system. We will follow the Raptor Ridge Half Marathon course. It is one of our favorite rides. Check out this link.
After that we will extend our ride to the North Shore Lake Hodges trail. This ride will take us to a favorite restaurant of ours: Hernandez’ Hideaway (19320 Lake Dr. Escondido 92029) After enjoying a well deserved and delicious dinner we will ride back to our vehicle with our new Niterider bike lights. Our plans after that? Well, a good husband doesn’t tell…

My husband is working on valentines day, but will be off at 2pm. For this special day, I scheduled a ride with him (casual for him, but a workout for me). He is training for the Super Seal Triathlon in March and I know it is tearing him up to waste a training day on a casual ride. He was a good sport, smiled and said yes to me! The plan is as follows: On the bikes by 3:30 starting at the Coronado Landing and ride down the Strand toward Imperial Beach. After returning to Coronado Landing we will have lattes with tiramisu and watch the sunset, then home to the kids. Sounds short, but I’ll take it! Happy Valentines Day!
