Course Maps Backup

The San Diego Century Bicycle Tour includes three routes for riders of all levels:

  • 37 Mile Route

All routes start and finish at MiraCosta College in Encinitas (Cardiff), CA.


DISCLAIMER: ALL COURSES SUBJECT TO CHANGE PRIOR TO JUNE 1. FINAL COURSE INFORMATION HANDED OUT AT THE EVENT. ALL ROUTE AND GPS INFORMATION IS PROVIDED FOR CONVENIENCE AND WITH BEST EFFORTS AT ACCURACY.  HOWEVER WE CAN NOT VERIFY GPS DOWNLOAD ACCURACY TO VARIOUS DEVICES, AND ELEVATION DATA ARE ALL CALCULATED ESTIMATES.  PLEASE USE THE GPS AND ROUTE DATA ACCORDINGLY, VERIFY ALL INFORMATION PRIOR TO THE EVENT AND PAY ATTENTION TO COURSE SIGNAGE ON EVENT DAY.

CAUTION: 3 CONSTRUCTION AREAS ON COURSE, PROCEED WITH CAUTION IN THESE AREAS, WATCH FOR CAUTION SIGNS, SLOW DOWN AND FOLLOW RULES OF THE ROAD.  MILEAGE IS APPROXIMATE FOR CAUTION AREAS. 

  • 37 MI CAUTION:  Mile 9-11 (on Elfin Forest Road), Mile 36-37 (Manchester Ave)
  • 66 MI CAUTION: Mile 9-11 (on Elfin Forest), Mile 29-31 (Three Witches Climb),  Mile 54-55 (Three Witches Descent), Mile 66-67 (Manchester Ave)
  • 103 MI CAUTION: Mile 9-11 (on Elfin Forest), Mile 29-31 (Three Witches Climb), Mile 92-93 (Three Witches Descent), Mile 104-105 (Manchester Ave) 

103-Mile Century Ride (Purple Wristband)

The 103 mile century ride includes challenging hills with approximately 6100 ft of climbing.  Tackle the hills as they increase the challenge level from the easy San Elijo climb at mile 7 to the next level of the Three Witches climb at mile 29.  Get your legs ready for the challenging Purple Monster Climb at mile 47 on the way out to Ramona.  From Ramona it’s mostly downhill as you make your way back to the coast and the finish line at MiraCosta College.  (2012 COURSE CHANGES!! Mile 80 on the 103 mile route.)

66-Mile Route (Green Wristband)

The 66 mile route includes some moderate climbing with approximately 3100 ft of elevation gain.  Work up from the easy San Elijo climb at mile 7 to the Three Witches climb at mile 29.  Enjoy the aid stations and the trip along the coast as you make your way back to MiraCosta College and the Taste the Hills Festival. (2012 COURSE CHANGES!! Mile 44 on the 66 mile route.)

37-Mile Route (Blue Wristband)

The 37 mile route is one of San Diego’s classic rides, frequented by professional riders, locals and beginners alike.  Just about any level of cyclist can take on the approximately 1700 feet of climbing that includes the San Elijo climb at mile 7.  Ride a classic and enjoy the Taste the Hills festival at the finish line with a selection of gourmet food trucks, music, refreshments and an intimate expo.
